In the spring of '97, in Finnland, nordic walking was presented for the first time as an effective form of sport and has since then enraptured roughly a million people. In central Europe it is slowly becoming the trend-sport number one. Nordic walking is a sport for beginners as well as for those rediscovering their sporting tendencies and, of course, athletes with higher ambitions.
